Afterword

I have so much to tell you. So many more stories. Although, I should let you know that further works may or may not include devotionals. I haven't decided yet. I've taken to writing devotionals separately, as there is a need for them. However, I cannot deny the value of including them with the stories themselves, yet, there is also an efficiency in focusing on telling more of a story. So, again, just as a warning to my readers, I'm not sure yet.

However, truly. I have so much more to write. You will note, the overarching category of this book, this story, is deliberately based on a specific world - a planet. I have more worlds and their stories. For starters I know with specific precision where Rydar is. (Or, um, or is immediately after the end of this book. You see I always know “now” where he always is across the entire timeline of his existence, past, present, and future. Which brings to mind another book I need to write, “What I learned about God by Being an Author”. I digress… again.) Also, every tale of Ahr-Khis, legend or concept of note is cataloged. Just for Luxada - mostly. Then, I have also seen a boy fly holding on to a hat, earth and fire wrestle in the void of space, peace ally with war, and a man wake to a fairy sitting on his alarm clock.

Then, if I were to include the volumes I could write about, and how to endure, our own world… I am being literal when I say if I wrote a book every year for the next twenty years - I still would only have used what I've already thought of.

Again, my fear is that I do not have that kind of time. The rate and direction that the world is going is such that most of what I would write would be considered fundamentally objectionable. In large part a majority of this very book already is. The expectation of peace and security in the future? I think most of it will be more along the lines of simply doing our best to do our best, and cherishing what joy, and wonder, and quiet God blesses us with opportunity to enjoy. Days, years perhaps, are coming, that any time spent in quiet, reading a book that takes you to another world, may be of treasured worth far more than almost everything that now saturates the world as its given entertaining distractions.

So, I would like to offer a deal, such as it were. It's the standard transaction for persons such as me and thee. You see, I do not want to be a millionaire. I don't even want to be a hundred- thousandaire. I only hope for what is needed to “lead a quiet life and mind my own business”. So the deal I pose is this. Please enjoy what I write, and invite anyone else who may, to also do the same. Please, tell your church leaders, youth leaders, Christian school librarians, your family, your children, your grandchildren, your friends, and, or, whomever else you are so moved to share your discovery with.

Then if such a collection of people gathers and grows to enough of a degree that supports me so that I can do so, I will endeavor to write full-time, and then you will be welcome to either take succor in what I write about of my perceptions of this, our world, or, if when you are as weary of this world as I, you are then more than welcome to visit any of the worlds I live in, and see what stories you may find therein.

Deal? … If so, I'll see you in the next world.
